Student summer job available at Theatre Ontario

Theatre Ontario has received funding from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture under the Summer Experience Program to hire a student between the ages of 15 and 25 who is currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution (or within six months of graduation), for the position of Education Assistant to work with our Education Coordinator in preparation of our annual summer theatre courses.

Key duties include: working with the Education Coordinator to maintain a computer spreadsheet of participant’s information, prepare and update forms; take payment from registrants, prepare and mail out packages, prepare class lists, name tags, certificates and fill in for receptionist while away.

Skills required: Customer service, good communication skills (written and verbal), computer skills, and a background and interest in theatre.

The successful candidate will learn to operate various machines: photocopier, fax, mailing machine, telephone system and debit/credit card payment machine.  They will have the opportunity to communicate via telephone email and in person with many people from around the province interested in our programs.  Networking opportunities are available through the sharing of our offices with two other interesting organizations:  The Toronto Alliance for the Performing Arts and Playwrights Guild of Canada.

Time: July 5 – August 19th, 2011 (7 weeks full time)
Pay: $10.25 an hour
Deadline: June 20th, 2011
